Eddie Lamar Myrick, 53, of 68 Kincannon Rd. SW, Cartersville died Monday, July 23, 2007 at Emory University Hospital. Born in Cartersville on August 22, 1953, he was the son of Betty Gayton Myrick Patterson and the late Edward Junior Myrick. He had been employed by North Metro Technical College for the past seventeen years. During his free time, Eddie was able to enjoy his woodworking, gardening, music and singing. Preceding him in death are his father; his brothers, Jimmy and Terry Myrick; his maternal grandfather, Silas Ishmael Gayton; and his paternal grandparents, Wesley and Louise Worthington Myrick.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Patsy G. Dover; his mother and step-father, Betty and Buddy Patterson; his maternal grandmother, Mary Willis Leviner; his brother, David "Chuck" Myrick; his sister, Janey Mulkey; his nieces and nephews whom he considered his own children, Jeanie Campbell, Raymond Campbell, John and Kelli Lockridge, Robin and Richard Puryear, Rachel and Lamar Deem, David and Lindsey Cagle, Tommy Cagle, Sam Lockridge, Tommy and Miranda White, Nicole Horton, Keysha Myrick; and many other nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Also surviving are his cousin, Ernie Garrett; and his close friends, Emmett Estes and Malcolm Boon.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Bobby Gayton and Jack Burch officiating.
