Edgar Love

Mr. Edgar Ford Love, age 92, of 3 Elmwood Street, Rome, GA, died Monday, September 19, 2005, at his residence. Mr. Love was born in Webster County, MS on August 25, 1913, the son of the late John Ellis and Martha Olantha Fowler Love. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church where he belonged to the Ready Sunday School Class. Mr. Love served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and retired from Celanese Corporation in 1977. In addition to his parents, Mr. Love is preceded in death by, his wife, Edna Roe Love to whom he was married on August 3, 1942; four sisters, Arzella Gore, Captola Edwards, Bertha Sampson, and Dora Hays; two brothers, A.B. Love, and Renfroe Love.Mr. Love is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Jim Jackson and Martha and Russell Deane all of Rome, GA; three granddaughters and their spouses, Lori and Shane West of Kennesaw, GA, Kim and Blake Lewis of Saint Marys, GA, and Kris Jackson of Rome, GA; and a sister and brother-in-law, Nora and Joe McCorkle of Ruleville, MS. Several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2005, at 2:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Lambert and Rev. Bill Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.Mr. Love will remain in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as active pallbearers and are requested to meet at the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home on Wednesday at 1:30 P.M.: Shane West, Ronnie Whithurst, Edward Selman, Michael Braden, Greg Smith, and Charles Heath.
