Edith Roland (Mama Bear), passed away Monday, September 24, 2007 at her residence in Douglas, GA. Edith was born July 6, 1925, daughter of the late Cassie Jane White and the late Andrew Jackson Vick. She attended Bread of Life Christian Center.
Survivors include five daughters, Nancy Maybern (Max) of White, Patsy Taylor (Larry) of Rydal, Janie Irwin (Sam) Cartersville, Bobbie Coker of Douglasville, Debbie Hawkins (Randy) of Douglasville; two son's Johnny Roland (Becky) of Villa Rica, and Andy Roland of Cartersville; 22 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Roland; son Jimmy L. Roland; two grandchildren, Jody Roland and John Mallory Roland, III.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at the Bread of Life Christian Center 267 Simpson Rd. White, with Rev. Colon Ashworth and Rev. Max Maybern officiating. Interment will be in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Edith's grandson's will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p. m. Tuesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 430 Cassville Rd. Cartersville.
