Edna Abernathy

Mrs. Edna Abernathy, 65, of Cartersville passed away, Monday, February 27, 2012 at Kindred Hospital Rome. Born in Jasper on November 14, 1946, she was the daughter of the late John W. Dover and the late Bertha Mae Williams Dover.
She attended Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and was a housewife.
Survivors include her husband of forty years, Doyle Abernathy; her children, Christy Abernathy, Dewayne Abernathy and Lamar Abernathy and wife, Lynn; ten grandchildren; her sisters, Patricia Jones, Mary Phillips, Gerald Dean Cromer, Alice Lingerfelt and Elizabeth Dover; her brothers, Larry, Jimmy, Robert and John Dover; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2012 at Central Baptist Church with Reverend Charles Moore and Reverend Donny Summey officiating. Burial will follow in Old Macedonia Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
