Edna Brookshire

May 17, 1930 — July 2, 2010

Edna Brookshire, 80 of Cartersville went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, July 2, 2010. Born May 17, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Reece Allaway Horton and Ethel Jewel Garner Horton. She was also preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Rev. Homer E. Brookshire; and three brothers.



A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Brookshire was a homemaker most of her life but had worked for a period of time in the sample department at Philadelphia Carpet. She was also a member of the Church of God of the Union Assembly.



Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Gary and Louise Brookshire of Cartersville and Kenneth A. Brookshire of Cartersville; her daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Gary Coffman of White and Teresa and Jack Lovvorn of Marietta; her grandchildren, Tonya Brookshire, Terri Gentry, Jason Dean, Kurt Miller, and Randy Brookshire; ten great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Lewis and Patsy Horton and Jimmy and Kate Horton; her sisters and brother-in-law, Geraldine and James Thomas and Peggy Meadows; and several nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 5, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Rodney Kennedy and Rev. Keith Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the Aragon Memorial Cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 4 � 8 p.m. Sunday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
