Edward Baldwin

Mr. Edward �Ed� Daniel Baldwin, age 73, of the Glenwood Community died Saturday, May 30, 2009 at his residence.



Mr. Baldwin was born in Floyd County, GA on December 12, 1935, the son of the late Isaac Baldwin and Rosie Lee Highfield Baldwin. Mr. Baldwin was a veteran of the United States Army and the United States Air Force having served in the Korean War. He retired from Inland Container. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, wood working, puzzles, and ball games. Also, he wrote short stories that will be published soon. In addition to his parents Mr. Baldwin was preceded in death by a son, Randy Allen Baldwin; a brother, David Baldwin; and a sister, Janie Pearl Baldwin.



Survivors include his wife, Adele Gammon Baldwin of Rome; two daughters and sons-in-law, June Baldwin Worthington and Brian Worthington of Rome and Mickey and Larry Worley of Rome; granddaughter Brooke Worley and grandson Griffin Worley both of Rome; a brother, Bill Baldwin; and a beloved cat, Weasel. Several nieces and nephews also survive.



The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 2, 2009, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home. At other hours they may be contacted at 109 Robin Street.



Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Harry Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the East View Cemetery with the Honor Guard of Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 of the American Legion conducting military rites.





The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet Wednesday by 1:30 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel: Griffin Worley, Paul Duncan, Rodney Shannon, Ralph Gill, Will Edenfield, and Claude �Gunrunner� Carter.
