Retired Master Sargent, Edward L. Nagle, 95, died Monday, February 3, 2014 at Wellstar Tranquility House in Austell, Georgia. Born November 30, 1918 in Portsmouth, Virginia, he was the son of the late Edward Leo Nagle, Sr. and the late Pearl Winn Nagle.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ann Martin Nagle and a brother, Francis Nagle. Mr. Nagle is retired from the U.S. Army as a Master Sargent having served in WWII and was a part of the Normandy Invasion. He was a gentle, easy going person, very quiet but with a great sense of humor. He never had a harsh word towards anyone. Mr. Nagle also loved to cook.
Survivors include his sons, Skip Campbell of Dallas, Ga.; Mike Nagle of Naples, Fl., Edward Nagle of Portsmouth, Va., and William Nagle of Chesapeake, Va.; his daughters, Debby Ward of Niceville, FL.; and Kathy Worthen of Niceville, Fl.; sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Services will be announced at a later date. Mr. Nagle's remains will be buried in Broad Creek Cemetery in Natural Bridge, Virginia beside his beloved wife, Margaret.
