Edward Thurman

Edward L. Thurman, 64, of Cartersville passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Born December 29, 1944 in Pine Log, he was the son of the late Marion �Bud� Thurman and the late Jeanette Earwood Thurman. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Billy Thurman.



Edward had been the owner of his own construction company. He was also a mechanic who enjoyed the outdoors and visiting and socializing with people. Edward also loved spending time with his grandchildren.



Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Shirley Wehunt Thurman of Cartersville; his daughters and son-in-law, Becky and Jason Neal and Lacy and Wayne Beaty; his brother, Robert Thurman of Gordon County; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Jewel and Harrison Wilbanks, Joanne McAbee, and Betty Jean Thurman, all of Cartersville, and Wanda �Turk� and Dale Dunbar of Gordon County; his grandsons, Austin �T� Beaty and Jason Neal, Jr. of Cartersville; and his special friend, Kevin Jackson.



The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2009 at the Cartersville Civic Center. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to Mrs. Shirley Thurman, 434 West Main St., Cartersville, GA 30120.
