Ella Dee Crabtree, 68, of Cartersville passed away Friday, October 16, 2009 at her residence. Born in Rinnie, Tennessee on June 6, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Henry Simcox and the late Viller Key Simcox. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Cody Crabtree; her brothers, Barney and Doug Simcox; and her sisters, Celola Simcox Rich and Haddie Simcox.
Ella was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cartersville, the Order of the Eastern Star, and Rebekah Lodge of Georgia #28 in Rockmart. She retired from Indiana Glass and completed her working years at Kennesaw State University as a custodian. Ella enjoyed sewing and quilting.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-three years, James Crabtree of Cartersville; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Lisa Crabtree of Cartersville; her daughter, Connie Crabtree of Cartersville; her grandson, Lucas Chambers; her brothers, Talmadge Simcox of Goshen, Indiana, Rabon Simcox of Michigan, and Edward Simcox of Dayton, Ohio.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Bruce Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Crabtree, Lisa Crabtree, Connie Crabtree, Lucas Chambers, Barbara McCann, and Kirk McCann. Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:15 p.m. on Monday.
The family will receive friends from 4 - 7 p.m. Sunday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville, GA 30120.
