Ella D. Matthews, age 83, of Kingston, Georgia, sadly passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Townsend Park Nursing and Rehab in Cartersville, Georgia.
Ella was born on July 10, 1940, in Kingston, Georgia to the late Grover W. Dupree and Mattie Lou Dupree. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband Wayne C. Matthews, as well as numerous brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Larry & Cathy Tidwell; her granddaughter and very special friend, Casie Tidwell; all of Adairsville, GA, and her siblings Charles "Nub" Dupree (Ollie), of Kingston, GA, Lelia Heath, of Kingston, GA, and Ruby Dupree of Adairsville, GA.
Ella was a devout Christian woman and was a member of Miller's Chapel in White, GA. She was completely devoted to her family, and they were devoted to her. Her granddaughter Casie was the light of her life, and Ella's favorite hobby was spending time with her. She took pride in her appearance and loved getting her hair done. She will be sorely missed and forever loved.
A short visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor John "Doc" Hatfield officiating. Interment will take place after the funeral at Cassville Cemetery in Cartersville, GA.
