Mrs. Ella Kerce Sullins, age 82, a resident of Chulio Nursing Home, 1170 Chulio Road, Rome, GA, died Thursday evening, September 2, 2004, following an extensive illness.Mrs. Sullins was born October 10, 1921, in Floyd County, the daughter of the late Hammy and Sarah Smith Kerce, and had spent her life in Rome and Floyd County. She was employed by Celanese Corporation for over 30 years and retired from Bekert Incorporated. Mrs. Sullins was of the Baptist faith and a member of North Broad Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Mae Kerce Cornette, of Barnsley Gardens Community.Mrs. Sullins is survived by a sister, Ms. Lillian Kerce of Rome, GA; one daughter, Janice Barnes Maloney, and son-in-law, Shelton Maloney, of Centre, AL; one ex-son-in-law, Benny A. Barnes of Holly Springs, GA; four grandchildren, Tammy of Rome, Craig of Atlanta, GA, Brad and Angelica of Tallahassee, FL, and Scott Barnes of Holly Springs; three great grandchildren, Nicholas, Sarah, and Frank of Holly Springs. Several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services for Mrs. Sullins will be held on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. in Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Mr. J. Parnick Jennings, Sr., Dr. Tony Brooks and Rev. Katrina Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in the Barnsley United Methodist Church Cemetery.
