Ellen Rose Chapman, 73 of Scranton, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. Born January 2, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Gerald Hayes and Mary Gilbert. Ellen is also preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Chapman; brother, Jimmy Hayes; and Aunt Grace Gilbert.
It was written in Ellen's yearbook that she was determined, helpful, had a quiet manner and strong family values. Ellen was all that and more. She was determined to be the best mother and grandmother to all those in need. She was the most helpful to all in her family and no state line was her boundary. Her family was her passion and she mastered it well. She became the glue that kept the family together. She was the most selfless person and loved all unconditionally. She was known as Mama Ellen or Nanny.
Survivors include her brother, Jerry Hayes; son, Billy Korsack (Katie); daughter, Ann Laughhunn (Brian); step-daughters, Andie Millsap (Carey) and Stevie Searfoss (Jimbo); step-son, Miles Chapman (Charlotte); grandchildren, Tyler Korsack, Josh Moyer, Dalton Moyer, Seth Laughhunn, Cole Laughhunn, Carla Davis (Jamey), Elizabeth McKinley (Levi), Olivia Millsap, Rio Chapman, Ethan Searfoss, Lillie Chapman, Zeke Chapman; and her special pet Coco.
