Ellon Jane Jordan, 87, of Cartersville, Georgia, went home to her Lord and Savior on December 10, 2025. Ellon lived her life with a gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and a heart that welcomed everyone she met. She loved God deeply and devoted over 40 years working at the Open Door Christian Bookstore where she found joy in sharing faith, encouragement, and warmth with her community.
Ellon was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Jordan, her parents George and Cora Lee Padgett, and her sister Margaret Ann Brown. She leaves behind two daughters she adored, Clarise Jordan-Pope (Rodney Pope) and Denise Martin (Randy Martin); three grandchildren who meant the world to her, Ashley Thomason, Jordan Runion, and Brittany Martin; five great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy, Makinleigh Runion, Tate Runion and Henry Runion, Harlee Thomason and Jacie Thomason, brother Griffin Padgett, and sister Nancy Agan.
A woman of kindness, patience, and unconditional love, Ellon made everyone around her feel seen and cherished. She had a special love for butterflies, believing they were reminders of God’s beauty and gentle presence. Her family, friends, and all who knew her will carry her wisdom, her faith, and her steadfast love in their hearts forever.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Zion Hill Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Reverend James Black and Reverend Jordan Runion officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Sunset Memory Gardens where Ellon will be laid to rest by her husband Billy.
