Mrs. Elvie Bessie Skinner, age 92, of 1345 Redmond Circle, Rome, GA, died Friday evening, December 17, 2004, in a local nursing facility.Mrs. Skinner was born in Chattooga County, February 4, 1912, daughter of the late William Lewis (Bill) Trammell and Savannah Estelle Shaw Trammell but had spent the greater part of her life in Rome and Floyd County. She was a member of the Blue Pond Baptist Church. She was married to the late Naymon J. Skinner who preceded her in death June 18, 1958. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Elsie Bartow, and five brothers, Clarence, Leland, Willie, Choice and Thurmon Trammell, by a grand son, Edward Hampton, a great grand daughter, Crystal Caldwell and a son in law, Elton Hampton. She was an avid wrestling fan, loved to sew, and crochet.Survivors include; a daughter, Bessie Hampton of Rome, GA, a sister, Inez McDaniel of Rome, GA, and a brother Dewey Trammell of Rome, GA, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services for Mrs. Elvie Bessie Skinner will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 20, 2004 in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Martin, and Rev. Clifford Free officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.Mrs. Skinner will remain at the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends today (Sun) from 6-8 PM, at other hours they will be at the residence of the daughter 312 Brookwood Avenue, Rome, GA.Pallbearers serving are asked to meet at the Chapel Monday at 1:30 PM and include; Christopher Caldwell, Todd Jackson, Jonathan Roberson, Chad and Jackie Hampton, Shane and Robbie Camp.Please join Mrs. Skinner's family in honoring her life by visiting www.jenningsfuneralhome.com to share memories and post tributes.The Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements for the services of Mrs. Elvie Bessie Skinner
