Era Bennett

Mrs. Era Bennett, age 82, of Rome, GA died Tuesday, April 27, 2010.



Mrs. Bennett was born in Attalla, AL on December 11, 1927, the daughter of the late Hubert Butler and Keith Scott Butler of Plainville. Prior to her retirement she was employed in the lunchroom at the Georgia School for the Deaf and during her retirement she owned and operated a hair salon along with her husband the late Booker Elmer Bennett. In addition to her parents Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by a son Tommy Winn.



Survivors include a daughter, Linda Beam of Rome, GA; three sons, Ronnie Winn of Silver Creek, GA, Kerry Winn of Lindale, GA, Marshall Winn of Rome, GA; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a sister, Geraldine Gooden of Gadsden, AL. also survive.



Graveside and interment services will be held on Friday, April 30, 2010, at 1:00 P.M. CST in the Oak Hill Cemetery & Mausoleum in Attalla, AL.



The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings & Miller Funeral Home.
