Mr. Ernest "Ernie" Edward Evans, 69, of Cartersville died suddenly, Thursday, May 29, 2014 at his residence. Born in Gordon County on April 7, 1945 to the late Raymond Evans and Ruby Walraven Evans.
Ernie was of the Baptist faith and attended AA meetings faithfully. He was a jokester, always upbeat and enjoyed reading. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Mack Evans; and his sister, Annie Jo Wilson.
Survivors include his daughters, Jenny (Jack) Cheek of Cartersville and Vicky (Alan) Jacobs of Rockmart; his grandchildren, Preston Cheek and Chad Wilson; his brothers, Roy Evans, James (Christa) Evans and Miller (Linda Gayle) Evans all of Cartersville; his sisters, Margie Givens of Emerson and Millie (Al) Pallone of Emerson.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 1, 2014 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Al Pallone officiating.
Flowers will be accepted, but for those who wish to, please make donations to the local Alcoholics Anonymous, 12 Elizabeth Street, Cartersville, Ga. 30120.
