Ernest Frix

Mr. Ernest Thomas Frix, 89, of Cartersville, died on Friday, September 21, 2018 at his residence.
Mr. Frix was born December 7, 1928 in Ellijay, Georgia, the son of the late Charlie Frix and Daisy Mae Dean Frix.
Mr. Frix was a member of Glade Missionary Baptist Church. He was one of thirteen children. He loved to mow his lawn and always said his hobbies were his work. He was a Staff Sargent and Medic in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Frix was a Master Carpenter and was in charge of maintenance for Riches Department Store for more than 20 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Nell K. Frix of Cartersville; his children, Sandy Collins (Wayne), Glenda Frix Richardson (Phil) of Buchanan and Daryl Frix (Dale) of Cartersville; his brother, Jack Frix of Ball Ground; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Kyle Coker and Reverend C.E. Wilkey officiating. Interment will follow in the Kingston Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6 – 8 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Williams, Kevin Nix, Wayne Gazaway, Larry Taylor, Jerry Frix and Dick Caswell.
