Essie Pendley Burrell, 75, of Cartersville, passed away Friday March 19, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her family. Born June 18, 1934 in Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Levi Pendley and the late Altha Pendley. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Pendley, Cicero Ingram, Calvin Pendley, and Bill Pendley.
Essie was a member of Greers Chapel Baptist Church in Kennesaw. She was a loving wife, mother, and granny and loved the outdoors and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-five years, Clarence Burrell of Cartersville; her son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Leigh Anne Burrell of Taylorsville; her grandson, Caleb Burrell of Taylorsville; her sister, Vessie Rampley of Woodstock; her brothers, Eulan Pendley of Roswell and Eston Pendley of Dalton; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2010 at Greers Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. David J. Baker and Kirk N. Burrell officiating. Mrs. Burrell will lie in state at the church from 1 � 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Henshaw, Billy Pendley, Robin Mauldin, Chuck Mauldin, Larry Pendley, and Michael Hostetler. These gentlemen are requested to be at the church by 12:45 p.m. Monday.
A special word of thanks and love from the family is extended to Mrs. Lola Nation with Hyman Hospice, our angel sent from God.
Flowers will be appreciated, but the family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Alzheimer�s Association, 855 Abutment Rd. Suite 6, Dalton, Ga. 30721.
The family will receive friends from 5 - 9 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
