Estie Holmes

Mrs. Estie Lee Holmes, 72, formerly of 18 Defender St., Cartersville, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the Cartersville Medical Center. Born in Paulding County on November 5, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Perry Barron and the late Maggie Godfrey Barron. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Holmes was preceded in death by her husband, John Lewis Holmes, and five brothers.

Mrs. Holmes treated everyone as if they were family. She had a sweet, loving spirit. She also loved shopping and listening to gospel music. Mrs. Holmes was a member of Liberty Holiness Church and had been employed by Goodyear and K-Mart. She will be missed dearly by her children.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Carol Leachman of Cartersville, Timmy and Wendy Holmes of Cartersville, and Johnny Holmes of Adairsville; her daughter, Lisa Brock of Cartersville; her grandchildren, Eric Leachman, Marc Leachman, Cory Leachman, Christopher Brock, Emily Holmes, Elizabeth Holmes, Faith Holmes, and Trista Holmes; her great-grandchildren, Layla, Riley and Destiny; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2008 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. C.E. Popham officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gerald Barron, Donald Barron, Earl Barron, Timmie Brock, Wesley Vernon, and Doug Vernon. Pallbearers are requested to be at the funeral home by 12:15 p.m. on Saturday.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 9 p.m. on Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville.
