Ethel Chastain

Ethel Mae Chastain, 73, of Taylorsville, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Cartersville Medical Center.
Born June 12, 1946 in Taylorsville, Georgia she was a daughter to the late Junior Mayfield Hunton and the late Mary Frances Hunton. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Robert Nolan Chastain; her son, Jerry Wayne Helms; her brothers, Roy Hunton, and Ronnie Hunton; and her sister, Diane Mallory.

Ethel was a CNA until her retirement. She was a natural caregiver who enjoyed cooking and working in her yard. She loved the Lord and she loved her family.

Survivors include her children, Lisa (Johnny) Satcher, and Bobby (Glenda) Chastain; her brothers, Randy Hunton, and Terry Hunton; her grandchildren, Wayne Helms (Felicia), Nick Helms, Jenna Helms, Robby Chastain, Randy Chastain (Sylvia), Hannah Parker (D.J.), Hayden Chastain, Shane Blacksmith (Brittney), Christopher Blacksmith (Skylar), and Ryan Ramsey; and 9 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. June 14, 2020 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Reverend Jimmy Dunn and Reverend Alton Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Taylorsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the funeral home.

Ethel's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
