Mrs. Ethel Beatrice Roach Kerr, age 93, of Kingston, GA, died Saturday, January 3, 2009, in a nursing home.
Mrs. Kerr was born in Floyd County, GA, on April 23, 1915, the daughter of the late Joseph Sylvester Roach and Dora Ethel Brooks Roach. She retired in 1977 from the Georgia School the Deaf and was a member of State Line Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kerr was preceded in death by her husband, William Kerr, Sr.; a son, William Kerr, Jr.; four brothers, Joseph Sylvester Roach, Jr., Elerson Roach, Roscoe Roach, and Doyal Roach; and two sisters, Elsie and Vesta.
Mrs. Kerr is survived by five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held January 6, 2009, at 3:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Lael Corbett officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home.
