Mr. Eugene C. Cagle, age 84, of Cartersville passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Starcrest of Cartersville. He was a native of Bartow County born on February 16, 1924. He was the son of the late Isaiah Jack (Carl) Cagle and the late Ethel Beatrice Dupree. Preceding him in death are his parents; two sisters, Una Dodd and Vassie Childers; five brothers, Paul, Howard, Odell, Jackie and James Cagle; and infant twins, Ralph and Rena Cagle.
Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Kathy Seely of Oliver Springs, Tennessee, Linda and Keith Pye of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Luke, Micah and David Pye and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mr. Cagle was owner/operator of Cagle's Restaurant in Cartersville and several other restaurants in the Atlanta area. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of the Masonic Lodge, the American Legion and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII as a mortar gunner. Mr. Cagle enjoyed music and playing the piano and organ especially "Boogie Woogie" style. He was very creative and enjoyed painting and building projects. He had a green thumb and loved spending time at the beach.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2008 from the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Mike Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5 – 7 p.m.
