Mr. Eugene O�Banion, 71, of Taylorsville passed away Friday August 1, 2008 at his residence. Born in Grayson, Kentucky on October 25, 1936, he was the son of the late Estill O�Banion and the late Mabel Cooke Jaynes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Marcus Edward O�Banion.



Eugene was a self-employed contractor specializing in home construction. He was a veteran of the Army Reserve and a member of Christian Fellowship Church. Eugene loved working in his workshop and adored his family. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.



Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Betty Tackett O�Banion; his sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Kathy O�Banion of Taylorsville and Michael and Linda O�Banion of Taylorsville; his daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Kevin Abernathy of Cartersville; his grandchildren, Carrie and Donald Savage, Jeremy and Addie O�Banion, Joshua O�Banion, Michael and Lexie O�Banion, Candace and Richard Fierce, Levi and Katie O�Banion, and Aleah Abernathy; eleven great-grandchildren; his brother, Robert O�Banion of Ohio; and his sister, Thelma Adams of Ohio.



The family will receive friends from 5 � 8 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services and from 6 � 9 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson, Kentucky.



Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2008 at the Grayson Church of God in Grayson, Kentucky. Burial will follow in East Carter Memory Gardens in Grayson, Kentucky.



Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville is in charge of the arrangements.
