Eunice Mckinney

Mrs. Eunice Johnson McKinney, age 74, of 19 Holland Drive, Rome died Thursday morning at her residence.

Mrs. McKinney was born on November 18, 1933 in Floyd County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Clyde Hubert Johnson and Pearl Frances Davis Johnson. She had lived all of her life in Floyd County and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church but had attended some at Wilkerson Road Baptist Church. Prior to retiring, Mrs. McKinney was the vice president and bookkeeper for Mac's Muffler Shop. She loved to work with flowers and to cook. Mrs. McKinney was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her devoted husband, Winston L. McKinney, to whom she was married April 10, 1954; one daughter, Linda McKinney of Calhoun, GA; one brother, Fred Johnson of Lawrenceville, GA; one grandson, Austin McKinney of Calhoun, GA; a special friend, Saralee Roper; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. McKinney will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday in the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Don Leaptrot and Rev. David Mauney officiating. Interment will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends tonight at the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. At other hours the family may be contacted at the residence of her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rufus and Evelyn McCary, 737 Burnett Ferry Road, Rome, GA.

Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:45 pm Saturday and include, Marion Lee Davis, David McCary, Danny Hall, Wayne Johnson, Ricky Gordon, Barry Deaton, Terry White and Dr. Kenny Blake.

Flowers will be accepted but those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
