Eva Rogers

Ms. Eva Joy Rogers, age 70, of Rome, GA, died Sunday, November 23, 2008.



Ms. Rogers was born in Birmingham, AL, on March 3, 1938, the daughter of the late Earl Wesley Kennedy, Sr. and Bernice Beason Kennedy. She was a member of Transfiguration Episcopal Church for twenty years and was retired from Northwest Regional hospital after twenty years of service. In addition to her parents, Ms. Rogers was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Rogers; a son Earl Ted Rogers; and a brother-in-law, Guy Hughes.



Survivors include her two sons and a daughter-in-law, Shawn Rogers of Gainesville, Ga. David and Sharon Asbury of Gadsden, AL, three grandsons Mark, Paul, and Kevin Asbury all of Gadsden, AL., two brothers and sister-in-laws, Carey and Diane Kennedy of Birmingham, AL; Earl W. and, Shirley A. Kennedy of Armuchee, GA; a sister, Shirley H. Hughes of Comfort, TX . Several nieces and nephews also survive.



Funeral services will be held Friday, November 28, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. in the Transfiguration Episcopal Church with Rev. Cannon Michael Owens officiating. Entombment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.



The family will receive friends Friday from noon until the funeral hour in the Transfiguration Episcopal Church Chapel.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet at the Transfiguration Episcopal Church by 1:30 P.M. on Friday: Mark Asbury, Paul Asbury, Kevin Asbury, Mike Kennedy, Brad Kennedy and Korey Pitts.
