Mrs. Evelyn Winifred Vause Bevers, 90, of Cartersville, died Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Cartersville Heights Nursing Home
Born January 7, 1925 in Newark, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Raymond P. Vause, and the late Hazel Jordan Vause. Mrs. Bevers graduated from the Atlantic City School of Nursing in 1941, and moved to Bartow County in 1968. She later moved to Nashville, where she continued to work in nursing, retiring at the age of 80. Mrs. Bevers returned to Cartersville in 2012 to live with her family. She loved her family, and enjoyed travel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald Vause, Harold Vause, and Ray Vause; and a sister, Margaret Leach.
Survivors include her children, Linda Jo Ray and her husband Johnny of Cartersville, Buck Bevers and his wife Cheryl of Winter Park, FL, and Jackson Russell of Charlotte, TN; sisters, Betsy Schaefer of Wisconsin, Patricia Grippaldi of New Jersey, and Muriel Winegar, also of New Jersey; grandchildren, Jaime Lynne Rosshirt (Micah), Daisy Leigh Shinall (Tony), and Amy Jo Harmon (Chris), all of Cartersville, Kenny and Shelly of Winter Park FL; great-grandchildren, Caleb & Cali Rosshirt, and Jessica & Robert Harmon, all of Cartersville; and many nieces and nephews in New Jersey.
