Evelyn Miller

Mrs. Evelyn Frances Miller, age 77, of 418 Wayside Road, Rome, GA, died Wednesday, January 30, 2008, in a Cartersville healthcare facility.

A native of Rome and Floyd County, Mrs. Miller was born on September 21, 1930, the daughter of the late Martin Christopher Martin and Anne Bradfield Martin. She had lived all her life in Rome and Floyd County and retired in 1995 from Galey and Lord Textiles following 26 years of service. For a number of years Mrs. Miller attended Sunny Hill Baptist Church but most recently had attended Trinity Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Miller, on April 29, 1996. a daughter, Vickie Martin, two sisters, Kathryn Birch and Pearl Bryant, and three brothers, Leonard Martin, Ralph Martin and Charles Martin, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Miller is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William David and Linda Miller of Rome; one grandson, Benji Miller of Rome and one granddaughter, Hannah Miller of Rome.

Funeral services for Mrs. Miller will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Pastor Frank Terpening officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. in the Heritage chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home.
