Fay Lane, 86, of Cartersville passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Maple Ridge Health Care Center in Cartersville.
Born on January 26, 1938, in Cincinnati, OH; she was the daughter of the late Clarence Kirchgessner and the late Clara Trapp Kirchgessner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Lane, Jr.; her brother, Earl Kirchgessner; her sister, Mary Ann Herbers; and her granddaughter, Theresa Lane Vann.
Fay loved being a mother to all of her children, and in her spare time, she enjoyed working crossword puzzles in the T.V. Guide. She was also an avid lover of Bassett hounds.
Survivors include her children, Alan Lane (Louise), Barry Lane (Dena), and Jenny Lane; her grandchildren, Melissa Lane (fiancé, L.J. Ard), Megan Lane Boudrie (Marc), Morgan West (Brent), and Jessica Rose (Travis Jones); great-grandson, Conner Jones; special nieces, Patti Hammond (Larry), and Nancy Morgan (Steve); along with several other nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024 in the chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Dewey Atchley officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Friday prior to the funeral service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Curt Vann, Marc Boudrie, Brent West, L.J. Ard, and Conner Jones.
In lieu of flowers those desiring can make memorial contribution's, to the T. Vann scholarship fund at Coosa High School in memory of Theresa Lane Vann. The address is 4454 Alabama Hwy, Rome, Georgia 30165.
