Mrs. Faye Elizabeth Pate, 75, of Cartersville, GA passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 4th, 2021. Mrs. Pate was born in Bartow County, GA on February 6th, 1946 to the late Marion V. and Retha Chadwick Whitley.
Faye was a member of Atco Baptist Church and of the Baptist faith. She attended Cass High School, Georgia Highlands College, and the Armstrong Beauty School where she received her Master Cosmetology License. She was employed and retired with a combined total of 37 years of service with Bartow County School Systems as a bus driver and later worked in the office until her retirement in December 2017.
Faye was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed many things such as painting, spending time with her pets, and especially enjoyed her time with her friends and family. She was a devoted worker, and she always kept a positive attitude. Faye was well known for driving the band bus to football games and festivals. She always enjoyed a good time with the people she was surrounded with. She will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure to know and love her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her late husband, William Kay Eley of Cartersville, GA; and siblings Harold Whitley and Louise Whitley Young.
She is survived by her husband, Elvin Pate of Adairsville, Georgia; her sons, Curtis Eley, David (Arlene) Eley, and Mark (Kay) Eley; daughter, Elizabeth K. (Scotty) Edwards; grandchildren, Amanda Eley, Nechelle Barnwell, Cole Eley, Kyle Edwards, Nicholas Edwards, Kayla Edwards, Alicia Jenkins, Andrea Harper, and Blake Eley; twelve great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Chris & Jamie Pate, and Joy Wheeler; and seven step-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home chapel on Friday, December 10th, 2021 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Bethel Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 9th, 2021 at the funeral home located at 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville, Georgia.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mrs. Pate's grandsons, Kyle Edwards, Nicholas Edwards, Blake Eley, and Cole Eley; and grandsons-in-law Christopher Jenkins, Heath Harper, and stepson Jamie Pate.
