Mr. Felton Ray Smith, age 79, of Rome, GA died Monday, April 26, 2010.
Mr. Smith was born in Collinsville, AL. on October 8, 1930, son of the late Jesse Ray Smith and Bernice Thomas Smith. Prior to retirement Mr. Smith had been employed as General Manager for General Motors dealership for a period of fifty years. He enjoyed filming the wildlife and Marshall Forest behind his home and long walks with his wife Inga. In addition to his parents Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his brothers, Lavoid Smith and Clement Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Inga Schlemper Smith of Rome, GA; step-sons, Ray and (Donna) Schmidt of Rome, GA and Heinz Joachim and (Britta) Schmidt of Germany; sisters, Wanda and (Ralph) Spears of Summerville, GA and Goldie and (Fred) Treadaway of Collinsville, AL and brother, Hillaman Smith of Flint, MI.
Graveside and interment services will be held Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 2 P.M. in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12 noon until 2:00 P.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings & Miller Funeral Home.
