Flossie Brock Greenwood Evans, 95, of Rome went to her heavenly home on Sunday, April 19, 2009. Born April 16, 1914 in Bartow County, she was the daughter of the late Noah Anderson Brock and the late Ida Stubblefield Brock. Flossie was married to Logan Eugene Greenwood who died in 1958. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, J.V. Evans in 1981; and 11 siblings and their spouses.
Logan and Flossie had 6 children: Myra Greenwood Stephens who died in 1996, Nora Greenwood Howard of White, Max Greenwood of Locust Grove, Gayle Greenwood Salmon of Rome, Rita Greenwood Jones of Rome, and Steve Greenwood of Stone Mountain. Her surviving sibling is Clarence Brock and his wife Lois of Cartersville. Logan�s sister, Laura Treglown of Lindale also survives. Logan and Flossie have 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many special friends.
As Flossie�s health declined she received the services of Heyman Hospice. She was very fond of all the staff and most particularly LaShun Langston who attended her daily with much tender loving care.
Flossie was a very caring, loving lady who always put others first. She loved her Lord and was dedicated to her family, church, and community. Flossie served as the pianist of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for over 45 years. She was an avid gardener and thoroughly enjoyed sharing her home grown flowers, fruits, and vegetables with many.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery in Rome. Flossie�s adult grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be her youngest grandsons, Brock and Bradley Greenwood.
The family will receive friends from 5 � 9 p.m. Tuesday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
