Mrs. Frances Dempsey, age 92, of Rome, GA, went to heaven on September 14, 2009.
Mrs. Dempsey was born in Chattanooga, TN on December 30, 1916, the daughter of the late Denny Carroll Broome and Cordelia Brooks Broome. Mrs. Dempsey was a member of the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents Mrs. Dempsey was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Dwyatt Dempsey to whom she was married in 1934; by a son-in-law, W. Robert Turner and a brother, Philip B. Broome.
Survivors include her daughter, Charlene D. Turner of Kingwood, TX; her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Jean Dempsey of Rome; grandchildren and their spouses, Russ and Teri Propes of Cypress, TX, Bill and Lori Turner of Rome, Ron and Amanda Dempsey of Euharlee, GA and Clift and Melanie Dempsey of Cartersville, GA and twelve great-grandchildren also survive.
Graveside and interment services will be held Thursday, September 17, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. at the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Dr. Ron Dempsey officiating.
The family will received friends at the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens immediately following the graveside services.
