Mr. Merion McKenzie, age 82, of Trion, GA died Monday, May 18, 2009 in a Rome health care facility.
Mr. McKenzie was born in Chattooga County, GA on August 2, 1927, the son of the late Taylor McKenzie and Mary Smallwood McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie worked for many years at Mt. Vernon Mills. In addition to his parents Mr. McKenzie was preceded in death by his brothers, Conley McKenzie, Lee Gene McKenzie and James McKenzie.
Survivors include a brother, Carl McKenzie; a sister Thelma McKenzie Jones both of Trion, GA; several nieces and nephews and his extended family which includes the residents and employees of the Chulio Hills Nursing Home.
Graveside and interment services will be held Thursday, May 21, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. in West Hill Cemetery in Trion, GA with Rev. Vernon Johnson officiating.
