Mrs. Frances Trapp, age 84, of 7 Forsyth Street, Rome, GA, died Sunday morning, August 1, 2004 at a local hospital following an extended illness.Mrs. Trapp was born September 3, 1919, in Cherokee County, Alabama, daughter of the late William Gus and Cynthia Smith. She had spent the greater part of her life in Floyd County and was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. She had made her home of Forsyth for many years but since her health began to decline she had been a resident of Beverly Health Care for the past year and a half. She was a homemaker, was married to Sidney Trapp, December 5, 1937, and he preceded her in death January 10, 2001. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, William Greg Trapp, in 1987 and by two brothers Perry and Dwight Smith and by two sisters. She loved gardening and working with her flowers. Survivors include; a daughter and son in law, Carolyn M. and Wayne Toles, a son and daughter in law, William (Bill) and Louise Trapp all of Rome, two sisters, Bernice Bannister of Rossville, GA,and Sue Smith of Rome, one brother, Frank Smith of Cedartown, GA, 2 grandchildren, Robin Wright of Rome, and Allyson Neighbors of Florida, four great grandchildren, Brittney Trapp, Brooke and Brandi Wright, Jordan Neighbors, several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Trapp will be held 3 PM Tuesday, August 3, 2004 in the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Hinkley and Parnick Jennings, Sr. officiating.
