Mr. Frank H. (Buddy) Clark, age 79, formerly of Coosawattee Avenue, Rome passed away Monday, January 8, 2007 in Forsyth, Georgia.
Mr. Clark was born in Cleveland, Ohio November 3, 1927. He was the son of the late Guy Clark Blanchard and Susie Mae Brown Blanchard and was of the Protestant faith. Mr. Clark was a World War II veteran having service in the United States Navy. He was employed with Georgia Kraft in Rome for 35 years, retiring in 1989. Mr. Clark played on the Old Boys Club and Jennings Funeral Home Softball teams, one of which won a state championship. He was an avid golfer, especially on the senior circuit in his later years. He was as accomplished high school and college basketball referee. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Magdalene Weathers Clark of Rome; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Hank Stephens of Forsyth, GA; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mailon and Donna Baxley of Rome and Errol and Karen Baxley of Dothan, Al; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; an aunt and uncle, Nelson and Florence Blanchard of Courtland, NY also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Clark will be held Thursday at 2:00 pm at the Oaknoll Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Stockton officiating. Interment will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the Oaknoll Chapel tonight (Wednesday) from 7:00 until 9:00 pm. At other hours the family may be contacted at the son's residence, 49 Surrey Trail, Rome, GA.
The following are asked to meet at the funeral home on Thursday by 1:30 pm and include, Mailon Baxley, Chance Baxley, Hank Stephens, Danny Elias and Errol Baxley. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Williams, Robert Baxter, Rufus Barton and special friends, Clyde and Imogene Howell, Bobby Van Vlake and Jessie Kilgore.
