Franklin Stephens

December 3, 1933 — July 9, 2012

Mr. Franklin Daniel Stephens, 78, of Rydal, passed away Monday, July 9, 2012 at Cobb General Hospital. Born December 3, 1933 in Marietta , he was the son of the late Walker Daniel Stephens and the late Ada Qualls Stephens. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Melitta Seel Stephens.



Mr. Stephens served his country in the U.S. Army for fourteen years. He was a gifted entrepreneur and general contractor. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his children, grandchildren and his pets.



Survivors include his children, Yvonne Ursula Gordon and Diana Marie Stephens both of Arizona, Betty Luise Chenault of Michigan, Cathy Melinda Wilson, Cheryl Lynn Place and Franklin Daniel Stephens all of Georgia; his grandchildren, Diana Jennifer Gordon, Keith Herring Gordon, Crystal Rose Vanwieren, Daniel Thomas Duncan, Christina Luise Schones, Jospeh Langdon Duncan, Stephen Don Chenault, Nathan Wayne Wilson, Melinda Ashley Wilson, Franklin Daniel Stephens III and Richard Gage Stephens; his great-grandchildren, Samantha Elizabeth Duncan, Carissa Luise Schones, Chase John Schones and Emmet Don Chenault; his siblings, Hazel Caswell, Corbin Stephens, Ralph Stephens, J.W. Stephens, Alton Stephens and David Stephens along with their spouses.



Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2012 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Road, Cartersville. Interment will follow in Cheatham Hills Cemetery in Cobb County.



The family will receive friends from 9 � 11 a.m., Friday at the funeral home.
