Mr. Fred Randall Hames, 62, of Kingston died Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Cartersville Heights Care and Rehabilitation in Cartersville. Born April 29, 1949 in Cartersville, he was the son of the late Sarah Frances Floyd Hames Hale. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Kingston and was a veteran having served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed listening to all types of music and playing the guitar. For a number of years Mr. Hames gave guitar lessons. Preceding him in death are his parents, Sarah and Ray Hale; his brother, Donald Hale; and his grandfather, George Floyd.
Survivors include his sisters, Tammy Neal, Patsy Kelley and Elizabeth Baker; his aunt, Inez Hightower; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Joshua Penson officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery with Rev. David Hatfield in charge of graveside rites.
Nephews served as pallbearers and included: Jacob Kelley, Jake Teston, Trey and Teres Cowart, Danny and Justin Hardin, Shaun Blackmon and Patrick Hale. Jerry Hillhouse, Jeff Penson , Dale Penson and Bob Dawson served as honorary pallbearers.
The family received friends on Friday from 6 -8 p.m. at the funeral home.
