Fred J. Munday, 86, of Cartersville died Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at the Cartersville Medical Center due to complications from a fall. A lifelong resident of Bartow County, he was born in White on March 10, 1922 and was the son of the late John Munday and the late Lucy Branton Munday. He was also preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one sister.
Mr. Munday was retired from Bartow County Public Works where he was a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed walking his entire life � even as a young boy � and would walk two or three miles a day. Mr. Munday was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Annie Lou Munday; his son and daughter, Leon and Donna; two granddaughters; four step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his brothers, Floyd Munday of Pine Log and Tommy Munday of Savannah; and a sister, Florence Heath of Ohio.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Friday, February 13, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Pastor Jacob King officiating. Burial will follow in Woffords Crossroads Cemetery in White. Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Ray, Jack Darnell, Wendell Howard, Billy Munday, Earl Lanham, and Mickey Ray. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home by 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
The family will receive friends from 5 � 9 p.m. on Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
