Gartrelle Cranmore

December 3, 1926 — April 29, 2010

Mrs. Gartrelle (Gert) Hester Cranmore, age 83, of Rome, GA died Thursday, April 29, 2010 in a Rome hospital.



Mrs. Cranmore was born in Broomtown, AL. on December 3, 1926, the daughter of the late Jess Hester and Dora Thomas Hester. Mrs. Cranmore was a member of the West Rome Baptist Church. She had worked for the Krystal Corp. for a period of 15 years.

Mrs. Cranmore enjoyed and loved gardening at her home. In addition to her parents Mrs. Cranmore was preceded in death by her brothers, J.P., Dewey, Dwight, R.C. and Rufus Hester.



Survivors include her husband of forty years, Ted Alvin Cranmore of Rome, GA and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.



Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 1, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Oates officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.



The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings and Miller Funeral Home and at other hours the family may be contacted at the residence of Marie Towns, 7 Berkshire Drive, Rome, GA.



The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers and are requested to meet in the Heritage Chapel by 1:45 P.M. on Saturday: Al Nadeau, Colt Waid, Rick Scott, Gene Autry, Bobby Crumley and Adam Bond.
