Mr. Gary Phillip "Phil" Brandon, 64, of Cartersville, died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Born April 22, 1948 in Cartersville, he was the son of the late Jeff Brandon and the late Bobbie Jackson Brandon. Phil was a member of Atco Baptist Church and was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was active with the church Meals on Wheels program and he was an avid car enthusiast. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Brandon; infant nieces, Shana and Erin Cochran; and grandparents, Bob and Fannie Lou Jackson, and Hugh and Edith Brandon.
Survivors include his sister, Gail Cochran and her husband Randy of Cartersville; niece, Meridith Childers and her husband Corey, also of Cartersville; great-nephews, Dylan Childers and Jacob Childers; and a special friend, Joan Burns.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Atco Baptist Church with The Reverend Doug Harris and The Reverend Mike Boatfield officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 from 4 until 6 p.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home.
