Gene Tant Jr

Gene A. �Bones� Tant Jr., 48, of Kingston died Thursday, April 23, 2009 at his residence. Born May 9, 1960 in Polk County, he was the son of Gene A. Tant and the late Gloria Fay Grant Tant. Gene was preceded in death by his mother and two brothers, Bobby Joe Tant and Kenneth Tant.



Gene attended Cloverleaf Baptist Church and was employed by Shaw Industries. He loved being a mechanic, doing his wood working, watching western movies, and wrestling.



Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Darlene Tant of Kingston; his daughter and son-in-law, Tamara and James Parsons of Selmer, Tennessee; his sons and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Sophia Tant of Grantsville, Maryland and Matthew Tant of Kingston; his father, Gene A. Tant of Kingston; his sisters and brother-in-law, Fay Tant of Euharlee, Ann and John Griffin of Floyd County, and Teisha Tant of Kingston; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Elizabeth Tant of Kingston, Danny Tant of Kingston, Derrick Tant of Kingston, and Abe and Angel Hall of Kingston; and one grandson, John Patrick Parsons.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2009 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Pastor Justin Gazaway officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
