Gene Taylor

Gene �Popz� Taylor, 48, of Cartersville passed away Monday, April 26, 2010 at the Cartersville Medical Center. Born July 10, 1961 in Tampa, Florida, he was the son of Ina Clark Phipps and the late George Taylor, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his brother, George Taylor, Jr.



George was employed as a tile installer and was a member of the Path of Christ Church in Kingston.



Survivors include his wife of twenty-five years, Mary Boring Taylor; his sons and daughter-in-law, Alan Taylor II of Cartersville, Timothy and Amber Taylor of Cartersville, and Nicholas Taylor of Cartersville; his mother, Ina Phipps of Myaka City, Florida; his brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Tina Taylor of McDonough; his sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Ricky Dickson, of Myaka City, Florida; and his grandchildren, Jessica Taylor, Eugene Taylor III, Joseph Taylor, and McKayla Taylor.



Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010 in Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Johnny Atkins officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery one hour prior to the service.
