George Andrew

Mr. George Jacob Andrew, 84, of Rome, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Floyd Medical Center. Born in Fulton County on May 10, 1929, he was the son of the late William Lee Andrew and the late Mary Jane Burnett Andrew.
Along with his parents, he is preceded by his wife, Grace Helen Hardman Andrew; two sisters, Mary Patton and Marie Hammack; and three brothers, Jack, Harry, and Johnny. He retired from Lockheed Martin. Mr. Andrew was a veteran, having served his country in the United States Air Force. Mr. Andrew was a member of the Congregational Holiness Church in Rome where he did volunteer work. He enjoyed being with his family and friends and was a great cook. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be sorely missed.
Survivors include his daughter and her husband, Kathy Rayburn and Maxie; his sister, Betty Powell of Covington; two brothers, Bill Andrew of Covington and David Andrew of Cumming; his granddaughters, Kandi Jackson Cash of Cartersville and Sydney Rayburn of Rome; his grandson, Colt Jackson of Adairsville; and three great-great-granddaughters.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 14, 2013 in Sunset Memory Gardens.
