George Fann

George Ernest Fann, 79 of Cartersville Georgia, passed away on December 17, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Cartersville on November 13, 1945 to the late Amos Fann and the late Stella Wilson Fann. He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Minnie Fann.

George was an airplane mechanic for the U.S. Army, having served his country for 20 years. He has spent many months in Vietnam. He fought and survived having his plane shot down twice, resulting in two different crashes.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Smith-Fann; sons Ricky Fann (Tina) and Joseph Fann; grandchildren Jackie, Jessica, Johnny, Sabrina and Stephanie; and great grandchildren Grayson, Camden, Jada, Willow, Riley and Tucker.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 20, 2024 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with Reverend Keith Willard officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at the funeral home.
