Gerald E. "Jerry" Arp, 68 of Cartersville, passed away on December 21, 2023 at his home with his wife by his side. He was born on December 6, 1955 in Fannin County, Georgia, to Windom and Della Arp. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sister, Willama King; and his brothers-in-law, Garfield King, Tom Lucas, Bill Robinson, and Jim Brock; and father-in-law, Fuzz Cornett.
Jerry loved to attend old car shows, especially at the Savoy Car Museum. He collected die cast cars both antique and newer models. He enjoyed playing his guitar to relax, working in his yard, and being with his family. Every year around the holidays, he would set up his Christmas village for his family and friends to enjoy.
Survivors include his adoring wife of 30 years, Denise Arp; children, Steve Arp of Canton, Georgia, Stephanie (Jason) Tiller of Lexington, Georgia, Jason Vaughn of Cartersville, Georgia, and Holly (Justin) Finnemore of Cartersville, Georgia; grandchildren, Hadley and Jack Finnemore; brother, Cecil (Pam) Arp of Copley, Ohio; sisters, Berta (Perry) Hinton of Clermont, Georgia, Doris Brock of Wakefield, Michigan, Sharlene (Delaine) Harmon of Canton, Michigan, and Carol Lucas of Wadsworth, Ohio; and mother-in-law, Sue Cornett; and brother and sister in law, Dennis and Gay Ray.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 28, 2023 in chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Arp, Jason Tiller, Jason Vaughn, Justin Finnemore, Jack Finnemore, and David Bobo.
