Gerald Tanner

Gerald Lee Tanner, 65, of Cartersville passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010 at his residence. Born January 25, 1945 in Acworth, he was the son of the late Ernest Lee Tanner and the late Mary Kate Hilburn Tanner. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, James Lee Tanner and Bobby Lee Tanner.



Gerald collected knives and enjoyed working on lawn mowers, weed eaters, and chain saws. He was also a shade tree mechanic who enjoyed working on the older automobiles. Gerald had previously been employed with Liberty Hill Cemetery in Acworth and with Faye Noland�s Toys in Acworth.



Survivors include his wife of twenty-eight years, Louise Tanner; his sisters and brother-in-law, Dale and Harold Mayes of Maryville, Tennessee and Carol Sue Mulkey of Cartersville; his nieces, Pam Tracy, Janice Lynn Lawson, and Brandy Tanner Long; his nephew, Michael Tanner; and several cousins.



Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010 in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Acworth with Rev. Greg Patterson officiating.



The family will receive friends from 12 � 2 p.m. Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 430 Cassville Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120.
