Geraldine Florence Dawkins, cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on June 29, 1941, in the quaint town of Ellijay, Georgia, Geraldine eventually made her home in Cartersville, GA, where she spent many happy years.
Geraldine's life was a testament to her love for family and the simple pleasures of home. She had a profound affection for gardening, spending countless hours nurturing and cultivating her beloved plants. A dedicated homebody, Geraldine also found joy in taking spontaneous day trips, exploring the beauty that surrounded her.
She was a devoted mother, raising her children with the same nurturing spirit she applied to her garden. She is survived by her loving daughters, Lisa Love and Terry Colston (Michael), her beloved son, Michael Dawkins, and a legacy of seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy, bringing warmth and laughter to her days.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ruth Henson, brother, William Junior Henson, and her beloved spouse, James Dawkins, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and companionship.
Her life will be celebrated at a graveside service on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Providence Cemetery. Family and friends will gather to honor and remember a life well-lived.
