Geraldine Pope

Mrs. Geraldine B. Pope, 88, of Cartersville, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Cartersville Heights Health and Rehab. A native of Bartow County, born June 27, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Crawford and Lillie Mae Sligh Brock.
Mrs. Pope was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a loving and caring mother. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and had a great sense of humor. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her husband, James B. Pope; and brothers, Herbert, Rufus and Otis Brock.
Survivors include her children, Rodney and Jenny Pope and Lynn P. and Kyle Moore both of Cartersville; her grandchildren, Heather Jones, Hillary and Mark Mathis, Holley and Mark Ezell, Jessica, Rachel and Jonathan Pope; her great-grandchildren, Chloe Walters, Griffin and Tate McGill, Sophie Mathis and Greyson Head; her sisters, Helen Cagle and Carol Hatfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with The Reverend Dr. Don Hattaway officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Mathis, Mark Ezell, Ross Mitcham and Jonathan Pope.
