Gertrude Waid

Mrs. Gertrude Waid, age 89, of Rome, GA died Sunday, March 14, 2010 in a Rome healthcare facility.



Mrs. Waid was born in Englewood, TN on August 19, 1920 daughter of the late Charlie Roberson and Mary Stiles Roberson. Prior to retirement Mrs. Waid was employed as a nurse with Floyd Medical Center. In addition to her parents Mrs. Waid was preceded in death by her husband, N. Marshall �Paps� Waid in 2004 and her sons-in-law, Jack B. Grogan and Kevan L. McClay.



Survivors include her daughters, Brenda M. Grogan and Jeral McClay; five sisters, four brothers. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.



Graveside and interment services will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 12:30 P.M. in Floyd Memory Gardens with Rev. Mikel Garrett officiating.



The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 noon in the Heritage Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings & Miller Funeral Home.
