Gloria Tant

Gloria Fay (Grant) Tant, 63, of 84 Worthington Rd., Kingston passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, May 22, 2007. Born on August 8, 1943 in Floyd County, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Mary Grant. Mrs. Tant had worked for American Carpet and Springs as a machine operator. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sons, Bobby Joe Tant and Kenneth Wesley Tant.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Gene Albert Tant of Kingston; her daughters and son-in-law, Tesha Tant of Kingston, Fay Tant of Taylorsville, and Ann and John Griffin of Rome; her sons and daughters-in-law, Derrick Tant of Kingston, Dennis and Elizabeth Tant of Kingston, Albert Jr. and Darlene Tant of Kingston, Abe and Rella Hall of Kingston, and Danny and Carrie Tant of Kingston; her sisters, Mary Hunter and Betty Almond, both of Kingston; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2007 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Jerry Wood and Rev. Paul Battles officiating. Burial will follow at Hill Creek Cemetery in Rockmart. Serving as pallbearers will be: Matthew Tant, Wesley Dover, Heath Hurst, Mark Cornett, Luke Parsons, Josh Green, Darrell Green, and Kenneth Tant.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 9 p.m. on Thursday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
